I am going to just copy and paste what i just wrote as a journal for our trip so far. As i am writing i am sitting on deck on the ship in the sun with a hefty breeze staring at the mountains and ocean at Maui!
Thursday arrive 230 pm. walk down beach for dinner at Hula Grill. Watch sunset on the beach by the hotel.
Friday get up early and take shuttle to Pearl Harbor memorial. Tour USS Bowfin submarine, 10am boat to USS Arizona memorial. The. Take bus over to USS Missouri and tour. Back to hotel dinner and swim in ocean and watch the sunset again
Saturday check out of hotel and take a taxi up to Diamondhead. Hike to the top, it was hot and windy! But worth it. Walked back down to town and got lunch at Duke's bar. Yum! Taxi over to ship and board.
Sunday we got up and caught out shuttle to our Molokini snorkel and turtle snorkel! 2nd windiest harbor in the world. It was 4-5 foot waves while snorkeling at Molokini but saw lots of fish. We got back on and moved over more by shore to Turtle Town and got back in to snorkel and saw sea turtles! They are huge!
Monday we had to wake up at 230am to catch the 3 am shuttle to the sunrise over Haleakala crater at 9700 feet! It was 45 ish with winds around 25 mph so it was cold! But so pretty! After the sun was up we went to the top of the crater and could see the big island across the water. We started to come down and had lunch at about 3700 feet it was yummy! We got back to the boat and took a nap after straightening around excursions for tomorrow. Then I got a Lomi Lomi massage that was awesome!
